UFOs in Hinduism

Adapted from Daniel O'Connor's book "Only Man Bears his Image"

Hinduism—from which Buddhism took its own origin 2,500 years ago—today numbers over a billion adherents, and it, too, is an entirely and intrinsically ET-welcoming religion.

[In Hinduism,] a living being from Earth might be reincarnated into another kind of living being on another planet anywhere in the universe, and those beings in turn could be reincarnated here on Earth. ... Extraterrestrials would be other beings who, like us, must struggle to increase their karma in order to escape samsara. Hindus would not be at all surprised by the discovery of extraterrestrial beings. ... Swami Prabhupada was a prolific and authoritative translator of Indian religious writings and the founder of [Hare Krishnas]. Prabhupada wrote a commentary on Srimad Bhagavatam, a book that “tells the story of the Lord and His incarnations since the earliest records of Vedic history. It is verily the Krishna Bible of the Hindu universe.” In his commentary, he writes, “... In that ocean [of space] there are innumerable planets, and each planet is called a dvipa, or island. The various planets are divided into 14 lokas. ...”Prabhupada then states that according to the Vedic tradition there are 400,000 species of living beings in the universe with humanlike forms, many of them advanced beyond us. ... In keeping with the Hindu belief that the entire universe goes through cycles of creation and destruction and rebirth, Prabhupada identifies the lifespan for the universe as about 300,000 billion years... Bhagwad Gita

BG 7.23 Men of small intelligence worship the demigods, and their fruits are limited and temporary. Those who worship the demigods go to the planets of the demigods, but My devotees ultimately reach My supreme Planet.

These two verses clearly state that there exist other planets. A worshiper of the sun achieves the sun or a worshiper of a demigod like Indra can attain that particular planet. But the devotee of the supreme lord goes directly to the supreme planet of the personality of Godhead. Different Demigods have different planets.

In Shrimad Bhagwatam it is written-

1.3.2 Within the stem of the lotus there are fourteen divisions of planetary systems, and the earthly planets are situated in the middle. The first Purusa is the Karanodakasayi Vishnu. From His skin holes innumerable universe have sprung up. Then the purusa enters in each and every universe as Garbhodakasayi Vishnu. He is lying within the half of the universe which is full with the water of His body. From the naval of Garbhodakasayi Vishnu has sprung the stem of the lotus flower, the birthplace of Brahma, who is the father of all living beings and the master of all demigods. Within the stem of the lotus there are fourteen divisions of planetary system, and the earthly planets are situated in the middle. There are some planets upward and the topmost system is called Brahmaloka.

Downwards from the earthly planetary system there are seven lower planetary systems inhabited by the Asuras and other living beings. There is an event which describes about several universes or planets. Once when Krishna was ruling Dwarka, lord Brahma came to see a Him, and the doorman informed lord Krishna about Brahma’s arrival. Then Krishna asked the doorman that he was talking about which Brahma and what was His name? When doorman asked Brahma “which Brahma?”

Lord Bahma was surprised and told the doorman to inform Krishna that He is four -headed Brahma and the father of the four kumaras. After giving information to Krishna by doorman, Brahma was allowed to enter. Then lord Brahma asked Him if there is any other Brahma besides Him within this universe. Then Shri Krishna meditated and number of Brahmas arrived instantly.

These Brahmans had different numbers of heads. Some had ten heads, some a hundred, some a thousand, some ten thousand some hundred thousand some ten million and some hundred million. When Brahma saw this he became bewildered. Thus, the potency of Krishna is inconceivable.

All the universes rest in one body of Krishna. Bhagwad Gita doesn’t say anything about Alien but anything can happen in this material world due to Maya. There is a pic from newspaper of an alien like baby who was born on this material earth.

Other Pagan world religions, though not counting as many adherents as those described above, also commend belief in the existence of aliens.

Only Christianity can defend us against this UFO deception.
