This is where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. It is the home of the Essenes, who left Jerusalem for the desert to await the birth of the Messiah.

The Essenes transcribed the Dead Sea scrolls, 200 years before Christ. The bread and wine were the centre of their gatherings, and prefigure the Mass.
